SELECTION CRITERIA

The cooktop is the most commonly used appliance in the kitchen. It can’t be missed whether cooking is your biggest passion or you just need it to quickly heat something up. To choose the right model, the starting point is to identify the most suitable type of operation or type of power supply according to your needs:

  • electric hob
  • gas hob
  • induction hob

Other elements to consider are the size and number of burners or cooking zones. As for the size, you need to know the available countertop space in your kitchen. Usually the depth is standard (51 cm), while the width can vary from 30 to 90 cm depending on the number of cooking points or burners. The preference of the number of cooking points is to be determined by personal habits. If you love to cook and you like to have more dishes in preparation, direct your choice towards a hob with 5 burners or at least not less than 4.

MODULAR INDUCTION COOKTOP

The modular induction cooktop offers undeniable performance and ease of use. For this reason, its higher cost than other types of product and it is necessary to use specific pots and pans.

Precise and fast, it allows you to adjust the cooking temperature almost instantly, with no waiting time. It is able to reach temperatures that are impossible to achieve with other types of cooktops. You’ll be able to cook your meals for a long time with confidence! And thanks to the booster function, boiling water takes very little time.

It guarantees effective safety: it is not its surface that heats up directly (only the container heats up) and it cools down very quickly. In addition, induction cooktops are equipped with automatic lockout and shut-off systems in case of overflow.

The modular induction cooktop heats very quickly and efficiently; it stays on for a shorter time than other types of cooktops and therefore uses less energy.

Gas-powered cooktops are the most traditional and popular ones. Also, they are the cheapest ones. Standard models have 4 burners (of different size and power) and are made of stainless steel or enameled, but there are also versions with 6 burners and tempered glass. Grids are used to give stability to pans during cooking: they can be made of metal or cast iron. The latter is the preferred material because it is more resistant to high temperatures and time. Given the “dangerousness” of the fuel, gas cooktops incorporate a safety valve or thermocouple, capable of detecting any leaks and blocking any leakage. The gas stove is suitable for those who do a lot of cooking every day, as it is based on a power system that allows you to considerably reduce energy consumption.
